BhaatBank was inspired by the concept of Roti-Bank in India, where a few friends gathered
together and brought food from home to a location where anyone in need can come and collect free food. Today, they serve on an average of 1000 people daily from that same location. The phenomenon has spread through out their country and now there are many roti-banks opening in different cities.
We inspired to adopt the same concept in our own city where anyone in need can come and receive free food. Starvation can not be solved alone, therefore BhaatBank is taking a step to end hunger in our city and hope to inspire others to do the same in their own cities.

BhaatBank is a registered non profit organization in the commonwealth of Virginia that operates in Bangladesh to provide free food for anyone in need. Donations are collected from individuals and businesses and meals are prepared and distributed to our less fortunate neighbors. Anyone in need of food can walk to our donation center during operational hours and receive a free meal.
Currently, BhaatBank serves about 1200 meals a month from our location in Mohammadpur Dhaka, Bangladesh. 100% of the proceeds goes to our cause.
We believe the cause of hunger is not due to shortage of food but due to access to food. BhaatBank takes monitory donation from individuals, raw food supplies from local neighbors. Our volunteers prepare individual meal packets and distribute them between the less fortunate and needy people in our city from our donation center.
